It is our goal to be transparent and honest with you and to remove the uncertainty and anxiety many feel in visiting an attorney. We offer fixed pricing for most of our services because most clients hate hourly billing. We don’t blame them. We do too.
Our prices reflect and align with our core belief that the following essential life planning documents should be accessible for everyone. The effect of a loved one, or yourself, becoming incapacitated or passing without these documents in place can be very costly and add an unnecessary layer of difficulty during a stressful time.
Our basic estate planning package includes five essential documents; the Simple Will, a Living Will, Health Care Surrogate, a Durable Power of Attorney and HIPAA authorization form. Those services are explained in more detail below. This price includes our initial consultation, drafting the documents, a follow-up meeting, and a visit to execute the documents.
A simple will is a legal document that lets you decide before you die what happens to your home, property, assets (known as your “estate”) and custody of your children after you die. This price includes our initial consultation, drafting the documents, a follow-up meeting, and a visit to execute the documents. If any of the documents need to be filed (not necessary in most cases) and there is a cost associated with the filing (which is usually not much), that cost is not included in our price.
A power of attorney is a legal document that lets you name a person that you trust to handle your financial affairs for you. A durable power of attorney makes sure those powers continue if you are ever mentally or physically unable to do them yourself. This price includes our initial consultation, drafting the documents, and a visit to execute the documents.
A Living Will is a legal document that allows you to express your end-of-life health care wishes while you have the sound mind to do so. The purpose of this document is to provide the Principal the opportunity to direct any provision, the withholding of, or withdrawal of any life-prolonging procedures in the event one should have a terminal condition that has been diagnosed as unrecoverable.
The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) form allows you to express who you want to have the right to obtain information about your health.
A health care power of attorney is a legal document that lets you name a person you trust to make your health care decisions for you if you are too sick or injured to do it yourself. A living will lets you state whether or not you want certain end-of-life medical treatments, including life-support. This price includes our initial consultation, drafting the documents, a follow-up meeting, and a visit to execute the documents.
Our Consumer protection services are focused on protecting the rights of community members to ensure they are treated fairly by businesses and protected against fraud and scams. Due to the nature of these services, we will review any fees, based on your unique circumstances, during the initial free consultation.
